Matt was born in Utah and raised in Kentucky. As a youth, Matt’s desire to succeed led to him earning the prestigious Eagle Scout Award. After finishing his studies, Matt began his career with AIG (American International Group) in 1995. His success and dedication to AIG led to a position at Modern Woodman of America. Woodman’s leadership promoted Matt to the position of Special Needs Coordinator, which provided business succession and estate planning to small businesses and high net worth families. Matt’s responsibilities later increased to include training and managing a regional team of thirty advisors across the state.
In 2001, his success and recognition with Woodman caught the attention of the owner of Revolutionary Financial Group, a quickly growing independent full-service firm based in Louisville. Matt accepted the position of Senior Advisor with the firm. In addition to leading the bi-monthly client educational seminars, Matt met with their clients to advise them on their personal finances and retirement strategy. His focus was to ensure each client gained the peace of mind that comes from knowing their desired retirement lifestyle is sustainable to age 100 and beyond.
In 2008, Matt founded his own independent advisory firm and began serving his client’s retirement needs. Matt attributes the success of his firm to the daily practice of the Golden Rule which is “putting client’s needs first and treating others as he would like to be treated.” This foundational principle is the key to creating meaningful and lasting relationships. Before long, Matt noticed that his clients began relocating from Kentucky to Florida for their retirement. So in 2011, Matt decided to move his practice to sunny South Florida.
Located in East Fort Lauderdale, FL, Matt has served thousands of families in Florida and throughout the U.S. The Strong Retirement Group, LLC specializes in providing clients with 100% principal protection and guarantees backed by the nation’s leading insurance carriers. Matt’s passion for serving his client’s long-term care needs is in part driven by his mother’s need for LTC during the final years of her life.
When Matt isn’t helping individuals and families prepare for the retirement of their dreams, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His other interests include working out, playing tennis, golfing, reading, and traveling.
